Study Abroad for Sussex Students

Find out how you can study abroad across the world for a year or a term.

About studying abroad

If you're an undergraduate student at Sussex, you can apply to spend some time abroad studying at another university.

It can deepen your understanding of your subject and give you a broader world view.

If you don't already have a study abroad element included in your course, there are two routes:

  • You can apply to spend a full additional year abroad as part of your degree.
  • Depending on your subject area, you may be able to apply to voluntarily spend a term of your degree abroad. This takes place at one of our university partner institutions around the world.

Find out about funding your studies abroad.

If you are a student on a four-year degree in American Studies or Modern Languages, you'll spend the third year of your degree abroad.
