How to buy tickets:

Full instructions for using the Online Shop are explained in our step-by-step How to use the Online Shop guide.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please double check that you have the correct tickets in your basket before paying. Unfortunately, we do not give refunds for tickets which are mistakenly purchased or if at a later stage you cannot go.  For full terms and conditions of coach tickets please see 'Terms and conditions' below.

How much luggage can I bring?

Luggage allowance is one large suitcase/bag in the hold, plus one piece of hand luggage in the coach. This luggage allowance is strict, and if you arrive with more than the above allowance we cannot guarantee your place on the coach and you may have to make your own way to Brighton.

Can my family members travel on the coach?

You are permitted to book additional family members onto the coach with you, provided they are your spouse (husband or wife), partner or dependant children, and are going to be resident in the UK with you. We cannot accommodate additional family members (such as parents).

What happens when I get to Brighton?

The journey from Heathrow airport to Brighton takes approximately 2 hours. The coach will make four stops - at King's Road and Abacus off-campus residence (both located in Brighton city centre) and then on campus, where most other university accommodation is based. Here, coaches will stop at a central campus location before finally dropping off any students who are living at Stanmer Court. Student helpers will be there to meet the coaches and direct you to your residence. We cannot stop at any additional locations, so students living in other accommodation will have to make their own way there from either King's Road residence or from campus. If you will be living in other accommodation, find out whether your house/flat is closer to King's Road, London Road (where Abacus is located) or campus, so that you can get off at the correct place.

Special Needs/Wheelchair users

If you have a disability where you require extra assistance when you travel, or use a wheelchair, please email international.support@sussex.ac.uk with details. Alternative transport will be arranged for wheelchair users as unfortunately the above coaches are not wheelchair accessible.

Terms and Conditions
  • You must have booked your flight before you buy a place on the coach.
  • You must allow 2 hours between your flight arrival time and your coach time. Getting through Customs, collecting your bags and getting to Terminal 5 takes time. It is your responsibility to arrive at the Terminal 5 meeting point on time. You should report to the International Welcome Team there at least 20 minutes before your bus is due to depart.
  • Buses will depart at the scheduled time.
  • Bookings close midnight Wednesday 12 September. Places are limited on each coach and are allocated on a first come first served basis. To avoid disappointment please book early.
  • Luggage allowance is one large suitcase/bag in the hold, plus one piece of hand luggage in the coach. This luggage allowance is strict, and if you arrive with more than the above allowance we cannot guarantee your place on the coach and you may have to make your own way to Brighton.
  • We do not accept liability for loss or damage to personal belongings or luggage. Please ensure you have adequate insurance cover.
  • You are permitted to book additional family members onto the coach with you, provided they are your spouse (husband or wife), partner or dependant children, and are going to be resident in the UK with you. We cannot accommodate additional family members (such as parents). Please email international.support@sussex.ac.uk to request additional seats. There are no price reductions for children. All children must have their own seat.
  • If your plans change and you can no longer travel on your booked day and time, please email international.support@sussex.ac.uk as soon as you can. Where possible we will change your booking to an alternative service, but this depends on availability. We do not offer refunds, except in very exceptional circumstances.
  • If you miss your booked coach because of a delay to your flight time, we will do our best to put you on the next available service. If this is not possible, there are public coach and train services to Brighton from Heathrow and our helpers will assist you with this. You will have to pay for your own ticket. You will not be entitled to a refund in this circumstance.
