Nora Davies

Nora is the External Partnership Project Manager with the Research Quality and Impact team  responsible for co-managing the University’s ESRC IAA fund, focusing on facilitating and developing external partnerships. Her role is ESRC funded to help researchers develop their impact. Nora previously worked in local government for 19 years supporting strategic partnerships and working with senior management teams to deliver priorities and manage projects, often in partnership with other external organisations and/or local communities.

Dominic Dean

Dr Dominic Dean is the Research Quality Officer within the Research Quality and Impact Team.

Dom supports the University and its Schools to maximise their research quality, and ensure that it is optimally presented externally, particularly in the Research Excellence Framework (REF). Outside his RQI role, Dom also undertakes his own research and teaching in modern English literature and related fields.

Suzanne Fisher-Murray

Suzanne is the Research Communications Officer within the Research Quality and Impact Team. She helps build a better understanding of Sussex research and maximise our engagement and influence with policy makers, industry and other stakeholders in order to support its commercial development. She has previously worked as a radio and print journalist, managed educational radio projects in Africa and helped organisations develop communications strategies for sharing their research and demonstrating impact over the past 20 years.

Megan McMichael

Megan co-manages the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account at the University of Sussex, with focus on supporting applications for funding.

Megan has a social science and policy background, having previously conducted social science research on home energy efficiency, and before that co-ordinating an all-party parliamentary group on sustainable energy. She has been working in her current role since April 2015.

Michelle Stonestreet

Michelle is the Research Quality and Impact Administrator providing administrative support to the Research Quality and Impact Team.

Christina Miariti

Christina is the Research Impact Officer in the RQ&I team. She has 15 years of experience in Higher Education in research development and impact roles. A journalist by training, she started working as a reporter and moved on to SEERC, a research centre of the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield (CITY College), where she gained 10 years of experience in research development and research communications contributing to proposal writing and to managing EU-funded projects in South East Europe. In the past, she has also held communications positions for a number of Associations and NGOs. She holds a Master’s degree in International Communications (University of Leeds) and is currently studying for the Sussex MBA.
