What our graduates do

Each year the Careers and Employability Centre researches what Sussex graduates and postgraduates do six months after graduating, as part of the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey.

2016 Overview
  • 95.7% of first degree leavers were in work, work and study or further study (95.9% in 2015)
  • 81.7% of employed UK first degree leavers were in graduate level work or were engaged in further study (87.9% in 2015)
  • 63.3% of UK first degree leavers were in work (60.2% in 2015)
  • 32.4% of UK first degree leavers were primarily in further study/training (35.7% in 2015)
  • 4.3% of first degree leavers were unemployed (4.0% in 2015)

All the above figures are based on those available for work or study.

SIC2007 results shows that the top 3 industries employing University of Sussex leavers were Professional, Scientific and Technical activities; Information and Communication; Human Health & Social work.
