Study skills

Our Study skills programme will help you to develop more effective approaches to studying. You can access a range of online skills resources via Skills Hub and attend our study skills workshops.

Workshops are available to all undergraduate and postgraduate UK students and overseas English native speakers. If you are an international student with English as a second language, please refer to the Academic Development support offered by the Sussex Centre for Language Studies.

  • Sussex Centre for Language Studies - workshops and study skills tutorials for international students whose first language is not English
  • Library Workshops and Training - workshops throughout the year to help you use the library's resources and develop your research skills
  • Royal Literary Fund Fellowship Scheme - professional writers offering 1-to-1 tutorials to improve your essay-writing skills, from planning to drafting to editing. Book via Study Direct
  • Student Mentors - 2nd & 3rd year undergraduates and postgraduates, trained to offer advice and support to other students. If you would like mentoring support, please ask your School Office for details of mentors in your School.
