Access to Marked Exam Scripts

Principles and general outline of the feedback sessions

  • The marker (or a colleague) gives feedback and answers the student’s questions.
  • Marks cannot be changed; these meetings are an opportunity to receive feedback.
  • The scripts stay with the lecturer; students are not allowed to take their scripts away, or copy them/take pictures.
  • Students can only see the scripts individually, not in a group.
  • Access to exam scripts is only possible within a defined, limited time frame after the release of marks.

Apointments should be made by contacting the lecturer directly. Convenors should then set up a Zoom link and share it with the student when viewing online exams. Convenors should arrange a time to meet students when viewing in-person exam scripts. The script should be screenshared by the convenor. The student should not take screenshots or screen record while the paper is being shared with them.

Students: What do I have to do to see my marked script?

You can request to see your exam script by contacting the lecturer directly for an appointment on the following dates -

Following A1 2024 the period will be:

ALL students: Wednesday 21st February to Wednesday 13th March 2024

Following A2 2024 the period will be:

PLEASE HAVE YOUR STUDENT CARD READY AS SCRIPTS ARE ONLY IDENTIFIABLE BY YOUR CANDIDATE NUMBER

During the time slot, the lecturer goes with you through your script, gives feedback and answers your questions. You are not allowed to bring anyone with you to the meeting, take your script with you or take pictures.

Lecturers: What do I have to do?

If you are not around for these weeks, it is your responsibility to find a colleague to replace you as students may contact you to set up an appointment.

For Online exams -

  • Convenors should set up a Zoom link and share it with the student. The script should be screenshared by the convenor.

For Paper scripts -

  • Before the meeting, the lecturer collects the marked exam scripts from the School Office.
  • During the time slot, the lecturer goes with the student through his/her script, gives feedback and answers the student’s questions.
  • After the meeting, the lecturer returns the scripts to the School Office.
