Access to Marked Exam Scripts

Principles and general outline of the feedback sessions
  • The marker (or a colleague) gives feedback and answers the student’s questions.
  • Marks cannot be changed; these meetings are an opportunity to receive feedback.
  • The scripts stay with the lecturer; students are not allowed to take their scripts away, or copy them/take pictures.
  • Students can only see the scripts individually, not in a group.
  • Access to exam scripts is only possible within a defined, limited time frame of three weeks after the release of marks. Students make an appointment to see their script.
  • This access is possible for students of all years who take exams in MPS in Assessment Blocks 1 and 2. (A1 and A2)
Students: What do I have to do to see my marked script?

Your lecturer will publish the time of the feedback session.

Following A1 2019 the period will be:

ALL students: Monday 1st April to Friday 12th April 2019

Following A2 2019 the period will be:

Final year students, Year 3 MPhys/MMath students and MSc students: Monday 1st July to Friday 12th July 2019

Foundation Year, Year 1 and Year 2 students: Monday 15th July to Friday 26th July 2019

Following A3 2019 the period will be:

All students: Thursday 19th September to 18th October 2019 by appointment only. Contact the module convenor to set up an appointment.

You make an individual appointment of 10 minutes within this time; practically, this will in most cases be done using the event booking system on Sussex Direct. If the time slots have filled up, please ask your lecturer for more time slots.

PLEASE BRING YOUR STUDENT ID CARD WITH YOU AS SCRIPTS ARE ONLY IDENTIFIABLE BY YOUR CANDIDATE NUMBER

During the time slot, the lecturer goes with you through your script, gives feedback and answers your questions. You are not allowed to bring anyone with you to the meeting, take your script with you or take pictures.

Lecturers: What do I have to do?

Fix a time (such as 2 hours) for access to marked exam scripts in your office and publish it to students of your module(s).
