1441How do I subscribe to the ITS Texting Service?
The ITS texting service is for University teaching staff only. It enables IT Services to text teaching staff when there is an urgent technical problem with an IT service that is essential for teaching.
If you are interested in receiving these texts you must do two things:
1. Subscribe to the service.
Login to Sussex Direct
Click on the Teaching menu and select Subscribe to the ITS Texts
The following screen will appear, Click Subscribe
The Contact Details screen will appear.
2. If you have not already done so, you must enter your mobile phone number and ensure that you have agreed to allow the University to text your mobile number
Click on the Edit buttonEnter your mobile phone number
Click the box next to "I am happy to be contacted by the University via SMS (text messages) "
Click Save to save the new contact details
When you are no longer teaching you can unsubscribe so that you do not receive text messages unnecessarily.
