The University has provided a lot of support and advice for staff and students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Information for staff includes links to practical advice, help with wellbeing and best practice for those new to home working.. We have created a page with EDI advice for staff, including resources from national disability charities and organisations.  

Campus accessibility

AccessAble provides updated details about access to campus and its buildings. This includes teaching and residential buildings as well as the Library and the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, and off campus student residences. 

Legislation (Equality Act)

The Equality Act (2010) replaced previous anti-discrimination laws with a single act. The University adheres to the Act, which protects individuals from unlawful discrimination on the basis of nine protected characteristics.

The Royal Society guidance (unconscious bias)

The Royal Society offers advice and guidance on a number of topics, including understanding unconcious bias and making better group decisions.  

Government Equalities Office

The Government Equalities Office leads work on policy relating to women, sexual orientation and transgender equality. It is responsible for a range of equalities legislation. It provides guidance in relation to equalities legislation. It provides guidance in relation to equalities law, government policy, and national statistics for areas such as the gender pay gap.
