The University is introducing a new Identity and Access Management System which will improve the way we all access applications that we use on a regular basis, and the security around the data within them. The first stage of this is to introduce a single sign-on process using software called Okta.
IT Services are starting to move widely used applications onto the Okta platform and in time you will be able to access multiple apps using just one password through Okta.
From early-August you will need to be signed onto Okta to access LearnUpon which provides you with a range of online learning resources.
Staff will receive a number of emails towards the end of July encouraging them to activate their Okta accounts. However, you can do this now, if you wish:

Chief Digital Transformation Officer, Jason Oliver, said: “It’s vital that our infrastructure at Sussex delivers an outstanding student and staff experience. As part of the IT Strategy, we’re modernising systems to improve our security and keep data as secure as possible. The new Okta interface is a key part of this. Not only will it make it easier for users to find what they need on any device with a single password, it will improve accessibility with easier navigation from a keyboard or screen reader.”
The IT Services team is working to prepare many other applications to be placed onto the Okta dashboard over the next few months.
Okta is a world-leading digital services provider used by thousands of organisations in the private and public sectors.
