Have you got a favourite place to work on campus? With the assessment period starting next week, we hit the socials to get the inside track on your favourite study spots. Here’s what you told us…
A quiet spot to get your study on
For those who like some peace and quiet when they hit the books, the library is the ultimate sanctuary. It's open round the clock during term time and offers plenty of individual study spots, group study rooms, and open spaces where you can immerse yourself in your work.
Looking for somewhere a little less obvious? We also had shout-outs for the study spaces in the Arts Buildings and Silverstone, or, if the weather is good, why not find a shady spot with good Wifi to get some work done outdoors?
Need a caffeine hit to get your brain going? The ultimate hipster pick has to be the IDS Bar & Kitchen, a hidden gem of a café tucked behind the library!
Getting together for a group study sesh
Got a group assignment or just prefer studying with friends? The Student Centre was one of the most popular spots for group study with its friendly staff, variety of flexible work spaces and the coffee tuk tuk.
Not on campus, or want to connect from the comfort of your own room? Why not set up a virtual study session online? Keep each other on track and catch up on the latest gossip on your Pomodoro breaks by jumping on a Teams call.
Finally, we weren’t sure about the suggestion for study sessions over the pool table at Falmer Bar, but, who knows, maybe it’s the ideal spot for getting the creative juices flowing after a long day of essay planning?
Overall, the University of Sussex has plenty of great study spots to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a quiet desk to hunker down at or somewhere a bit livelier to link up with friends, there's a spot for everyone.
