Approvals and Submission

Your critical friends

Have your critical friend(s) reviewed your grant application?

(Not all grant applications need review by a critical friend - exceptions are listed on the Get Started page.)

Ensure they review your proposal at least two weeks before the deadline.

The School office will check with you that a Critical Friend Review (Pre-Submission Review) has been carried out, if your bid requires it under School Policy.

Proofreading

The School Office can proofread your proposal for English language, grammar and spelling, provided you give them your draft at least 5 working days before the funder’s deadline.  Contact Gemma Harman (School Manager) in the School Office for details.

Internal approvals

Once your budget is finalised, your RDM will send out the paperwork for internal approvals of your proposal.  Your bid will need to be signed off, by email, from the Head of School, the Technical Services Manager, the School Finance Manager, and the Research & Enterprise Office.

Submit the proposal to the funder

For proposals where the Research Office needs to confirm submission (online institutional approval), submit at least one day before the deadline (unless otherwise agreed).
