Traffic
The Security Unit monitors and when necessary controls traffic movement on the campus. When problems occur with traffic flow, Security Officers ensure that all impediments to the free-flow of traffic are removed as expeditiously as possible, while in the meantime assisting the flow of traffic. When there is a need for road/car park closure/diversions, Security Officers ensure sufficient temporary arrangements are in place to ensure safety/sufficient movement.
Entry to visitors' car parks and restricted areas are controlled by means of remote control and CCTV use.
Security staff are also responsible for the enforcement of the University traffic regulations in relation to parking. The issuing of permits and passes in line with the University Travel Plan is the responsibility of the Transport Manager.
