Lost/found property
If you are looking for lost property and you know the area in which you lost it, first ask the Premises Assistant/Porter in that area.
Otherwise go to the Security Office on the ground floor of York House, which is staffed 24 hours a day. This is also where you should bring any lost property that you find.
You can also email security@sussex.ac.uk to see if your item has been handed in.
Look out for email messages about your lost property too, as Security staff will contact the owner of a lost item if they can identify that person.
With the exception of property that could be deemed a health hazard, the Security office keep all items for one month. After that unclaimed items are given to charity, sold by the Students' Union or recycled. Unclaimed money is given to a student welfare fund and passports are sent to the relevant passport office or embassy.
