Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA)
Timescale: for completion 2014
Project value: £7.2 million
Project Manager: Louisa Way
The Gardner Centre is to be renamed as the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts. The renaming, a tribute to the involvement of Lord Attenborough and his family with both the University and the arts, will mark a new beginning for the Centre.
The total refurbishment of the centre will provide a flexible, level floor auditorium that can be reconfigured to accommodate up to 350 seats; exhibition spaces; and four different-sized studios and teaching spaces.
The cost of refurbishment, estimated at about £7.2 million, is being met through the University's capital investment programme.
