New staff PCs are set up with a standard set of software although applications are often customised for individual members of staff. Teaching PCs in lecture theatres and seminar rooms have the same software as student PCs.

Outlook is a personal information manager and although is it often used as an email application - it also includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, and note-taking.
