I am trying to pay my rent or fees through the Online Registration system in Sussex Direct and I get a message "101 Unauthorised transaction - please contact your card issuer (DECLINED)". Please can you help?

The 101 Declined message is normally a response from the issuing bank.  The bank may refuse payment because the transaction is unusual. This is a frequent problem even when the payee has a sufficient credit limit, a large amount and in another country.

If this happens you should contact your bank. Often the bank will then allow payment once the payee has explained the nature of the transaction.
