University of Sussex staff have access to a free will-writing service provided in partnership with Taylor Lucas Partnership.
Having a will in place is an important step in planning for the future, helping to ensure your wishes are clearly set out and your loved ones are supported. However, it’s something many of us don’t always prioritise. This service is designed to make the process simple, accessible and reassuring, at no cost to you, while supporting your financial wellbeing and peace of mind.
About the provider
Taylor Lucas Partnership is an established estate-planning provider, offering professional and accessible advice and guidance. Their experienced consultants will guide you through the process in a clear and practical way, helping you make informed decisions with confidence.
What’s included
Through this service, eligible staff can access:
- a free will-writing service, including mirror wills for partners
- guidance on setting out your wishes and protecting your estate
- a copy of your completed will for your records
- the option to recommend up to three friends or family members, who can also receive the service free of charge.
Wills prepared through the service can include:
- beneficiaries
- executors
- funeral wishes
- guardianship and child arrangements
- provisions for pets
- general estate-planning guidance.
How it works
The service is delivered in a simple, structured process:
1. Register your interest via the dedicated webpage.
2. Book an appointment at a time that suits you.
3. Attend an initial consultation to discuss your circumstances and wishes.
4. Review and approve your draft will with your adviser.
Appointments are flexible and can be delivered remotely, making it easy to fit around your schedule. You’ll also receive guidance ahead of your appointment to help you prepare.
Eligibility
This service is available to all University of Sussex staff and can also be extended to partners, free of charge.
