Disability, Education and International Development: A Social Justice Approach
How can the international development community (IDC) promote sustainable education of good quality for children and youth with disabilities? Drawing on diverse bodies of theory and evidence, this presentation will examine IDC’s work in key domains – education system strengthening, pedagogical reform, and the management of ‘big data’. In the light of this analysis, various ways in which IDC can work more effectively in this field will be identified, along with necessary changes to the political economy of disability, education, and international development. The presentation will be informed by the findings of a recently published Open Access book which can be downloaded from https://bristoluniversitypressdigital.com/monobook-oa/book/9781529241495/9781529241495.xml
