Staff Development Database

The University Staff Development Database records statistics on development activity undertaken by individuals and teams. Its design is aligned to the Corporate Staff Development Plan. Central staff development providers and some school /unit staff have access to this database. This allows the University to build up comprehensive staff development statistics on an organisation-wide basis as well as local school/unit. These statistics are used to strengthen campus-wide reviews such as Institutional Audit and Research Assessment Exercise, as well as funding grant applications,and an individual focus such as CV-building and staff appraisal preparation.
Personal Staff Development Record
All staff can access their own personal record of staff development undertaken. To do so, login to Sussex Direct and follow the links through the 'Personal' bar at the top of the page, and then 'Staff Development'.
Impromptu Web Reports
The University Staff Development Database produces a wide range of staff development reports within different permutations including by whole organisation, school, department, section, staff category etc. An edited example of a whole organisation report follows:
