ServiceService Level ProvisionResponsibilities of users

Travel Plan Delivery

To plan, develop, promote, execute and review a sustainable transport strategy and Travel Plan.

To consider sustainable alternatives for travel to and from campus and on university business.

Parking Strategy Management

To administer the Parking Strategy effectively and sensitively including the administration of pass/permit allocation and charging procedures.

Car-park users to apply promptly for a pass or permit to park online and to report difficulties and discrepancies to Transport Management staff. To pay parking charges promptly.

Enforcement of University Traffic and Parking Regulations

To provide prompt, fair and effective enforcement of the

Parking Regulations.

To avoid infringement of the Parking Regulations and to pay any enforcement fines promptly.

Maintenance and promotion of public transport provision to campus.

To negotiate with local transport providers to maximise the provision to campus and to enhance the facilities on campus for public transport users.

To use public transport for travel to and from campus and on university business, whenever possible.

Provision and promotion of cycle facilities

To provide and maintain a range of cycling facilities to encourage cycling, including showers, lockers, security and cycle parking.

To park cycles securely in designated cycle spaces.

Management of campus car-parks and the road network.

To maintain and improve provision of car-parks and the road network including lighting, surface maintenance and signage.

To protect and report any defect in car-parks or the campus road network.

Management of pedestrian and cycle routes on campus.

To maintain and improve provision of campus pedestrian and cycle routes including lighting, surface maintenance and signage.

To use designated pedestrian and cycle routes appropriately and to avoid obstruction of these routes or inappropriate use by other vehicles.

Fleet Management

To develop and review an efficient, economic and sustainable Fleet Management Policy to purchase, service and administer use of university owned vehicles.

University vehicle users and drivers to undertake required administrative procedures including prompt notification of insurance related issues.

Provision of transport/travel related advice.

To provide professional and legal advice to staff students, visitors and officers of the university about all travel or transport matters relating to the university.

To consult Transport Management staff promptly about all issues pertaining to travel or transport to, from or at the University.
