About us

The School of Media, Film and Music brings together Media and Communications, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, Media PRactice, and Music.

When you join the School of Media, Film and Music as a student we aim to provide you with all the information that you will need over the course of your studies in clear and accessible ways.  We will send you essential information about your courses to your Sussex email address, which we ask that you check into regularly.   The links on the left hand side will provide information on the arrangements for student support and representation, on academic advising, courses and modules information, on exams and submission information, mitigating evidence, and appeals and frequently asked questions.  You can also find out about study skills and other more practical information. You should also look at Study Direct for specific information which is personally tailored to your own degree programme and current courses for that year.

You are also welcome to pop by the MFM School Office in Silverstone 222 with an enquiry if you need some guidance with any of this information or how to find it.  Staff in the office as well as those based in other parts of the School are here to help you. You can also telephone on 01273 877538.  The office is open from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday.
