3 security threats, including “You have one new message”, 24 October 2018

3 security threats have been reported to the IT Service Desk today:

  1. Watch out for a phishing email called “You have one new message”. It comes from a Sussex email address. If you receive this message, please delete it. If you have already followed the link and provided your login details, please change your password immediately.
  2. We have also had reports of a spam email called “Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender”. You’ll see your own email address in this email, along with mentions of UCL’s email system. You can delete this message.
  3. We are also aware that blackmail scan messages have been received by members of the University. Details are on the ITS website.
