For students, staff and researchers at the University, we give help by email, phone or in person at our IT Service Desk in Shawcross.
Our helpdesk advisors are available every working day to help with more complex problems. We also have specialist teams to deal with the computers that are provided and maintained by the University.
We provide support for the use of computers and software supplied by the University.
We also try to help with general issues affecting teaching, learning and administration. This often includes trouble-shooting problems with personally-owned computers.
Our services are tightly budgeted and therefore we are unable to support activities such as online gaming. The physical maintenance or repair of computers and laptops is also outside our remit, although we can recommend local repair services for devices that are not covered by a warranty.
You can call us on 8090 (01273 678090) or visit our service desk in Shawcross between 9am and 7.00pm in term time or 9.00am-5.30pm during vacations, Monday to Friday (not including University closure days). We respond to online requests and emails during working hours. You can send us a request at any time and we'll answer it on the next working day.
If you have a problem with your computer which cannot be resolved easily, you can drop in to see one of our helpdesk advisors. They are able to troubleshoot and resolve a wide variety of problems including:
