The annual process of upgrading the Windows PCs in computer rooms across the campus is underway. During the summer vacation, we will be reinstalling Windows on over 1,000 PCs in computer rooms and labs.
We will be closing all of the cluster rooms and PCs in open plan areas in rotation so we can complete this work and will update this page with details of the closures.
Upgrade schedule
We've now completed software upgrades on Windows PCs in the following rooms:
- Library G70
- Friston 111
- IT Services Suite 3
and we're planning to complete these rooms next:

All student PCs are upgraded every year to install the latest versions of programs that have been requested as part of the annual software review.

The following rooms are currently closed as upgrade is in progress:
- Library Ground Floor (front)
- John Maynard Smith 1B01
- Bramber 239
It is hoped the following rooms will be next:
- Richmond 3B9
- Richmond 4B10
