How can a member of staff be granted access to all sites within their department or school?

If a Head of School or other senior person within a school or department wishes, then a given staff member can be given access to all of the Study Direct sites within that school or department.

For example, some Directors Teaching and Learning have requested access to all sites in their school in order to give them an overview of how Study Direct is being used. We would use the Colleague role for this, as it provides read-only (non-editing) access.

Alternatively if the department wants to nominate someone to upload lecture notes into Study Direct sites, that person can be given access to all sites within the department. In this case, the person would need editing access and would be given 'Administrative staff' access.

Please use the online request tracker form to make this request (you will be asked to login).

We can set staff up with read-only access or with editing rights. Please let us know the appropriate level of access required. We will ask you to supply confirmation from Head of School or other senior person in your school. This facility is currently available for key faculty or administrators only. However, colleagues can be given a Colleague role on all department sites.

Note: Blanket access is an 'all or nothing' type of access. Access cannot be given on a module by module basis. Also, access can only be given for the current and future year's sites, blanket access can not be given to past sites.
