1224What does it mean when I get an email headed "Your message to mailing-list awaits moderator approval"?
You will receive this message when you have posted a message to a mailing list that is moderated; that is, all postings to the mailing list are held for approval rather than being allowed straight into the mailing list. The moderator of the list will have the authority to accept, reject or discard your message.
The notice will also contain this message text:
Your mail to 'mailing-list' with the subject
Your original subject line
Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.
The reason it is being held:
Post to moderated list
Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive
notification of the moderator's decision. If you would like to cancel
this posting, please visit the following URL:
You could then go to the web address provided if you wanted to cancel your posting instead of waiting for the moderator to act on it.
