A member of my Sussex mailing list says that their attempts to post to the list are being rejected.

There are several possible reasons for this:

  • Your list could be configured as a 'broadcast' type list, such that the members themselves are moderated and are not able to post directly to it.
  • The person is posting from a different account (address) to that with which they are subscribed to the list.
  • The person is subscribed with the wrong form of Sussex address:   if they are subscribed with their Sussex address, they must be subscribed with their official address (that is, their address as shown in the Sussex student or staff directories).   For example, someone might be subscribed as  ano23@sussex.ac.uk but their official address might be A.N.Other@sussex.ac.uk.  All Sussex mail to Mailman lists is automatically restamped with the person's official address, just as it is for mail being sent off-campus, and any other form of Sussex address will not be recognised by Mailman.
