Thank you!

We would like to thank all of the students who took part in the survey in December. We had a great response and are already using the feedback and comments we received to improve the services we provide.

Actions we are taking

Wi-fi connectivity

You said:
The wireless internet connection is often very slow in the Library as so many people are trying to use it.

Our response:
We are already implementing plans to improve the connectivity in the Library, Fulton, Silverstone and Northfield. This work began in January and we will report on the progress of developments shortly.

 Wi-fi connectivity (continued)

You said:
The wi-fi is very termperamental and cuts out frequently.

Our response:
We have been unable to reproduce this in our testing but are carrying out further investigation. We are asking students who experience the issue to work with us to try to identify the cause of this fault.

Help at Shawcross

You said:
At the start of term, many students find it difficult to login to eduroam, resulting in huge queues at Shawcross.

Our response:
At the beginning of the academic year, we always ensure we have extra staff to help but sometimes, technical problems with the service mean that students find it more difficult to connect their own devices.

Computers in the Library

You said:
I love the computer suites in the Library but there is always a shortage of computers.

Our response:
This is a difficult problem to solve because space is limited and in other surveys, students often request more desk space and fewer computers! However, we are working with the Library to find a way to address this issue.

We are also working on the other issues raised in our survey - please see the comments and responses (PDF) document for details.
