@bhlibraries asked students to create their own Vi @bhlibraries asked students to create their own Victorian characters inspired by David Copperfield illsutrations. One student created a steam powered wooden robot that was used as either a butler or a pickpocket by its owner. The creater wasn’t certain if the robot is sentient or not 🤔😁

@richdwragg from @the_keep_archives and @bacauk st @richdwragg from @the_keep_archives and @bacauk students read letters from 11 year old Midshipman George Perceval to his parents, written in 1806. They thought about changes in his handwriting and how his tone altered when writing to his mother. In the activity, students wrote a letter about a recent event, thinking about their audience and who might read it 100 years in the future.

Katharine Martin, curator of 18th and 19th century Katharine Martin, curator of 18th and 19th century prints at the @vamuseum  helped us discover how linocutting techniques can portray a city, inviting students to rewrite museum labels for Edward Bawden’s Brighton Pier print on the theme of ‘Encounters.’ Aren’t they evocative?
