Where to park on campus
There are 10 main parking areas located across campus.
- P1 Science car park
- P2 Innovation Centre car park (for use by Innovation Centre personnel only)
- P3 Biology Road car park
- P4 Sussex House car park
- P5 Sportcentre car park
- P6 Mantell car park
- P7 Arts car park
- P8 Park Village car park
- P9 Lewes Court car park
- P10 East Slope car park
See the campus map for parking locations.
All 10 car parks are open for parking to all drivers on a "first come, first to occupy" basis.
These 10 car parks provide a total of 1,560 open car parking spaces on campus. You may park only in one of these designated parking spaces in the car parks.
In addition, 137 spaces are allocated for parking by disabled drivers and 181 for special purposes (e.g. the Sussex Innovation Centre, Health Centre, etc.).
The construction of new buildings on campus over the next few years will continue to place pressure on the number of parking spaces.
You may not park:
- on a yellow line
- on hatched lines marking loading and turning areas
-
on the grass
-
in a disabled bay unless you display a valid disabled person's badge.
Staff and students may not use car parks or parking spaces that have been designated for visitors only or for a special event, contractor or conference. Such designated spaces are clearly marked with notices.
Parking in Stanmer Park
Do not park in Stanmer Park when you come to work or study on the Sussex campus: there are limited parking spaces in Stanmer Park and the car parks there are for park users only.
You should also be aware that Brighton & Hove City Council do not provide security patrols for the car parks in Stanmer Park - and there have been instances of vandalism to and theft from cars parked there. The campus car parks are patrolled by University of Sussex security staff.
