Booking information
Staff and students at the University do not have to pay for this training. There is, however, a fee charged for not attending a booked course. The non-attendance fee is £25.00 for staff and £5.00 for students. It is important to cancel a course booking at least three working days in advance if you are unable to attend.
To Book online
- Log on to Sussex Direct
- Click on Personal on the Menu bar
- Choose Staff Development if you are staff or Training Courses if you are a student
- Click the 'Booking Facility' link
- Select Information Technology and follow the links to the course you require
- When you have located the course click the Book Now button

It is essential that you bring your PC user identifier and password when attending any of the sessions.
Booking restrictions
IT Services training sessions are open to students and staff of the University.
Non-attendance
Courses that you attend are free of charge. However there is a non attendance fee of 25 pounds for staff and 5 pounds for students. This fee is charged if you fail to attend or have not cancelled your place at least 3 days before the course is due to start. You will not be eligible to attend any further IT courses until this fee is paid.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an ITS training course, it is important that you cancel your place as early as possible, so that it can be offered to the next person on the waiting list
If you wish to cancel your course place you need to give at least 3 working days notice or you may be charged a non-attendance fee.
To cancel your place
- Log on to Sussex Direct
- Click on Personal on the Menu bar
- Choose Staff Development if you are staff or Training Courses if you are a student
- Click 'Record of your Staff Development/Training activities'
- When you have located the course you wish to cancel click the cancel button
