Access files N:Drive at home

Accessing your N Drive files from home

To access your files from your N drive, you will need to download a program called WebDrive.

Download WebDrive

  1. Download WebDrive and enter your Sussex credentials for access.
  2. Read and accept the copyright acknowledgement to proceed with the download.
  3. Click on the WebDrive download page link and you will be taken to the WebDrive Website.
  4. Select the Windows (64-bit) Free 10 Day Download button, don’t worry you will enter the licence code to ensure you get the full version.
    You may be asked if you wish to allow this app to make changes on your device, if so select yes.
  5. Follow the installation instructions, you may be asked to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. 

Set up a connection

        1. Right-click on the WebDrive icon and choose Open WebDrive.
        2. Click New.
        3. Click SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) and click Next.

       4. Enter the Url/address
       5. When asked for a username, enter ad_us\ and then your Sussex username (for example, ad_us\ano123).
When asked for your password, enter your Sussex password.
       6. Click SFTP settings.
       7. In the default directory section, set this as /its/home/ then your username (for example its/home/abc123)

        8. Click Advanced Settings and then Basic File Settings.
        9. Tick Ignore desktop.ini files in list of settings and click OK.
      10. Click Next.
      11. Choose whether you want to connect to your files automatically when you login and enter a suitable name (e.g. Home Directory).
      12. You can also choose a drive letter - you might like to choose N: to match your Sussex Windows PC.
Click Finish.

Once installed, activate the licence:

  1. Open WebDrive and select the Help/Info tab.
  2. Select Licence information tab.
  3. Select Activate Licence.

       4. Enter the product registration information from the WebDrive download page.
       5.Click Activate and Finish

Once set up, to use WebDrive:

  1. Each time you login to your computer/laptop right-click on the WebDrive Tray Icon (bottom left of your screen).
  2. Select Connect to.
  3. Select site, e.g. Home Directory.

Configure the cache settings

Change this setting to make sure you see the most up-to-date information about your files.

  1. A WebDrive icon is in the  System Tray - The bottom right icon on computer screen.
  2. Right-Click on this icon and choose Program Settings.
  3. Choose Basic Cache Settings from the left panel.
  4. Tick Multi-User.
  5. Click OK.
