I don't have MS Word on my own PC and someone's sent me a Word attachment. What can I do?

Some other word processing programs (such as OpenOffice) are able to open Microsoft Word documents. Another solution is to open the attachment on an IT Services PC, and with the file loaded in Word, 'save as' the file again as a Rich Text Format (RTF) file (or a PDF file if you only want to view it), and email that file to yourself.   Then you should find you can open the attachment on your own computer.

See Moving files between computers for a guide to ways you can move the file to another location.
