Leading Through Uncertainty: How to lead with confidence when you don't have all the answers
Wednesday 25 November 10:00 until 12:00
University of Sussex Campus : Terrace Room, Bramber House, Conference Centre
A 2-hour, in-person workshop for leaders and managers.
For much of the last century, leadership was built around certainty. A leader's job was to set clear direction and offer a confident, accurate view of what lay ahead. That model is increasingly out of step with how organisations operate today. In a volatile, fast-changing environment, few leaders can promise certainty, and pretending otherwise tends to undermine trust rather than build it.
Research on adaptive leadership points to a different approach.Rather than having every answer, effective leaders in uncertain conditions focus on equipping their teams to respond well, creating the conditions for people to make informed decisions and solve problems quickly, in-line with organisational priorities and values, rather than waiting for direction from above. This workshop gives managers practical tools and approaches for leading well without having all the answers — helping teams stay engaged, make sound decisions, and come through periods of change in a stronger position.
