Message from the Student Union:

Research lies at the heart of postgraduate life, particularly for Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs). Yet behind every thesis and publication is a complex ecosystem of supervision relationships, ethical considerations, funding structures, wellbeing challenges, and institutional processes that deeply shape the research experience.

This is precisely why the Students’ Union has a dedicated PGR Part-Time Officer: an elected representative whose role is to champion the rights, needs, and voices of PGR students. As the upcoming SU Leadership Elections approach, we encourage PGR students at the University of Sussex to consider standing for this vital role. If you care about shaping a more supportive, transparent, and empowering research environment, for yourself and for your peers, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.
