As 2026 gets underway, if you’re a finalist student and you’ve not yet thought about submitting for your Spirit of Sussex Award, you should start now.
As a head start, here are 5 things you might have done over the winter break that you can log points for!
1. Picked up extra shifts
2. Celebrated Christmas, Hannukah, Yule, Bodhi Day, or Pancha Ganapati
If you celebrated a religious tradition as part of your faith, spirituality or practice, log it in the Creativity and Culture category under the question “Have you been involved and engaged with a faith or religious society or community?” (+5 points).
3. Saw a pantomime, went to a gig, or visited a museum
Enjoyed the arts? Log it in the Creativity and Culture category under the question “Have you been involved in any creative or cultural activity?” (+5 points).
4. Enjoyed some Winter walks, or went ice skating or continued a hobby
5. Volunteered
