Disruption to train services to London in January
Disruption to the main train lines between Brighton (and the general area, including Hove and Lewes) and Gatwick Airport is planned during several weekends in January 2026, affecting rail travel to Greater London, due to maintenance works.
All lines will be closed between Gatwick Airport and Purley / East Croydon on the following weekends:
- Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 January 2026
- Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 January 2026
- Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 January 2026
All lines will be closed between Three Bridges and Lewes / Brighton / Hove via Haywards Heath on Sunday 1 February.

Car parks, roads, and closures
Several spaces will be closed at the north end of P1 Science car park (next to Hastings and Friston), from Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 January, to facilitate coach parking.
There is an Amex Stadium football fixture (Albion v Bournemouth) on Monday 19 January, kickoff at 8pm. Please be aware that campus roads and parking will be busy after 5pm if staying late on Monday.
