Travel disruption during Bonfire Night
There will be extensive travel disruption to roads, trains and buses near campus on Wednesday 5 November, due to the Bonfire Night festivities in nearby Lewes.
Trains services from Falmer, and to and around Lewes, will largely stop running from around 4.30pm. Multiple roads to and around Lewes will also be closed. Bus services will continue to run as normal, but are expected to be very busy into the evening.
If you are on campus on Wednesday, please check your travel plans and consider leaving campus earlier if needed.
See more details via the Staff Hub.
North South Road closure on Tuesday 4 November
North South Road will be closed all day on Tuesday 4 November, to facilitate essential maintenance in the Shawcross (IT Services) building. There will also be some local disruption to pedestrian access and pavements near Shawcross.
The two North South Road bus stops will be closed, and buses will instead divert via the Southern Ring Road. Buses will continue to serve Northfield and East Slope via an alternative route.
No through access will be available for vehicles, but access to most buildings and all car parks will remain open.
Car parks, roads, and closures
Parking bays opposite the Hastings building will be closed on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 November to undertake maintenance on our campus fleet vehicles.
