Introduction to Zotero
Thursday 13 November 11:00 until 12:30
University of Sussex Campus : Library Teaching Room
Part of the series: Library Skills
Take charge of your research with the reference management tool: Zotero. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to build and organise your personal library of sources, instantly cite as you write and reference academic texts accurately.
This session will focus on using Zotero to reference common academic sources: journal articles, books and book chapters.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
-
Describe Zotero’s key features and understand how it supports the process of collecting, citing, and organising academic references.
-
Use Zotero to add, cite, and organise references effectively for your research.
-
Evaluate references for accuracy and completeness, recognising that automated tools can make mistakes.
Important: there is an expectation that attendees will have made an account with Zotero and installed the desktop app, the web importer and the Word plug-in.
For guidance on these steps, see the Getting Setup section of the Library's Zotero guide.
We will not be covering these setup activities during the session.
