Evaluation essentials training programme - Session 2: Theory of Change Practical Workshop – Understand
Wednesday 5 November 12:00 until 14:00
University of Sussex Campus : Room TBC
Speaker: Joseph Waghorne & Julie Shepherd
Part of the series: Evaluation essentials training programme
After learning the fundamentals of a Theory of Change (ToC), this session offers a chance to put that knowledge into practice. Attend this hands-on workshop to develop your skills in visually mapping the pathway to success for any project or intervention.
This is session two of ten in our evaluation essentials training programme. The programme has been designed so you can attend the whole series or just the parts you feel are most relevant to you. This session is an ideal practical follow-up to Session 1, but also functions as a standalone for those who want hands-on experience in building logic models.
This two-hour, in-person, interactive workshop will guide you through the process of developing a Theory of Change from the ground up. Using pre-determined scenarios, you will work on mapping the logical links between project activities, outcomes, and long-term impacts. We will explore both simple and more enhanced ToC models, and if time permits, you will have the opportunity to start developing a ToC for your own context.
By attending this session, you will:
- Understand the different stages of a Theory of Change.
- Map logic models, including activities, outcomes, and impacts, using set scenarios.
- Identify possible indicators for evaluation.
- Practise mapping logic models in your own context
Due to the practical nature of this session sign-up is limited to 20 places.
