Arrivals Weekend: Friday 19 to Sunday 21 September
Our new students will be arriving and moving into their new homes on campus this weekend, during which we will be welcoming thousands of vehicles onto campus as they move in and get settled.
Please note that campus roads and traffic will be very busy across all of campus during arrivals:
- New arrivals will enter and leave via Knights Gate Road; we recommend that all staff use the University Way entrance (by the Sport Centre) where possible
- P1 Science car park will be largely reserved for arriving vehicles; if you need to park nearby please use the lower end (nearer to Pevensey III, John Maynard Smith and Friston) instead of the upper bays, which are used to queue vehicles
- Traffic marshalling will be active on campus, directing students to their accommodation
- P7 Jubilee car park will be largely used by newly arriving students and visitors, and will be used for an alumni event on Friday 19 September
- The residences will be especially busy as students unload their belongings
- The A27 will be busier than usual throughout the day
There is also a BHAFC football match (Albion v Tottenham) on Saturday 20 September, kickoff at 3pm, which will use some parking areas at the lower ends of campus.
Parking permit renewals are open
Applications for parking permits for the academic year 2025/26 are open to staff and students.
The University’s self-service paperless parking portal has reopened for renewals. If you are renewing your permit simply log into your account, check your details are still correct, select the "Opt In" toggle to "Yes", and submit.
To give everyone time to renew their permit, permits for the year 2024/25 have been extended by 1 month – they will now expire on Tuesday 30 September. See more information.
New bus routes launch on 28 September
Two new express bus routes to campus will be launching on Sunday 28 September, connecting the universities to Brighton, Hove and Hangleton:
- The new 3X service is a fast route from Falmer Station to Brighton train station, Hove, and Hangleton.
- The 25X service is returning, connecting Old Steine to campus along the same route as the 25, but with reduced stops.
See more information via Brighton & Hove Buses.
