Act now: last opportunity for staff to access fully funded Level 7 Apprenticeships

Are you thinking about your next career step or keen to grow your leadership or specialist skills? If so, there’s an important change you need to know about.
From January 2026, the government will withdraw apprenticeship funding for Level 7 programmes for staff aged 22 and over. That means this could be your final opportunity to access a fully funded Masters-level qualification while you work.
With Annual Development Reviews (ADR) underway, now is the perfect time to explore professional development options, before it’s too late. Places on popular programmes are limited, and we expect high demand over the coming weeks. To avoid disappointment, we encourage staff to enquire by Monday 14 July.
Why now?
Following the recent Voluntary Leaver Scheme, many teams are evolving. Some staff may be taking on new roles, while others are considering how to future-proof their careers. Investing in your own development can build confidence, strengthen your impact, and open up new career opportunities.
At Sussex, we are committed to developing our staff and our future leaders, managers, and specialists. Apprenticeships are a powerful way to do that, with no cost to you or your department.
