Since February, we have been rolling out MS Teams Calling to Schools as part of the Telephony Modernisation project, with essential help from Change Champions. This follows a successful migration in central units completed in January, also assisted by divisional champions.
So far, seven Schools have been migrated to the software, with three more due to make the switch by the end of May.
School Change Champions have been providing vital support, assisting colleagues in Sussex Projects by communicating updates and information and being a first point of contact for their coworkers, helping to make the rollout as smooth as possible.
The Telephony Modernisation project was the first of a number of Capital Programme projects to develop a network of Change Champions or Change Ambassadors. The process has fostered great collaboration between teams and underscored the critical role of colleagues across campus in instilling confidence throughout the transition to new software. It has also provided some useful insights and feedback on how working with champions could be refined or adapted in future.
Ana Pereira, Change Champion for the School of Education and Social Work, said, “As a Change Champion, I've found the whole process smooth and effective, largely due to the comprehensive training provided and the very good support given by the Sussex Project team throughout. Being a Change Champion is an opportunity for any colleague to contribute to a university-wide project and make a positive impact. It can also be a valuable addition to a CV, demonstrating an ability to drive change and support organisational objectives.”
