Research Development Fund Awards
By:
Last updated: Wednesday, 10 September 2014
Earlier this year, BMEc established the Research Development Fund (RDF) to support the development of staff research projects with an emphasis on those expected to lead to excellent research publications, impact and opportunities to access external funding.
The first call for applications for the BMEc RDF closed in May and attracted 31 applications. The RDF has supported the launch of 19 projects (see table below). Additionally, several applications concerning the purchase of software were supported via departmental budgets, and one RDF award remains in negotiation.
Due to the unexpectedly high demand in this first round, with over £250,000 committed to projects, the RDF is expected to next make awards in the financial year 2015/2016. In the meantime, congratulations to the awardees and good luck with your projects!
