Freshers' Fair, September 2009
Thousands of new students - as well as many other students and, indeed, staff - spent yesterday (30 September) afternoon checking out the societies, clubs and other stalls on show at the Freshers' Fair, near Falmer House.
Over 90 societies and 30 sports clubs were exhibiting, hoping to attract new recruits from among the 4,000 new students who have descended on campus this week. Freshers were also able to explore a huge selection of volunteering and media opportunities.
Sussexsport, the Library and the Chaplaincy were among the units running stalls.
The Students' Union organise the fair every year to help new students settle in and find out what activities are on offer at Sussex.
The fun for freshers continues today (1 October) with the 'Freebies Fair' in Mandela Hall, Falmer House, and a 'cooking on a budget' demonstration at Bramber House this evening (5pm).
