A Students' Union team won the 2012 staff rounders competition in June

A Students’ Union team won the annual staff rounders competition yesterday (Wednesday 27 June).

This year’s event was Olympics-themed with each of the seven participating teams dressing up to represent a different Olympic nation.

The winning Students’ Union team, representing Germany, beat IT Services (Great Britain) by half a rounder in the final, which went to a ‘hit-off’ after the match finished 6 -6.

The other teams taking part were Admissions (Jamaica), Human Resources (New Zealand), Professional Services (France), Student Recruitment Services (Australia) and a second Students’ Union team (Italy).

Luke Terrill, event organiser, said ‘The staff rounders event had a really good buzz about it this year.  It  was really well attended and there were some great country themed costumes’.

More than 85 members of staff enjoyed an afternoon off work to take part in the yearly contest, organised by Sussexsport.
