South Downs walk
Sunday 2 August 11:00 until 15:00
Lewes to Southease
Speaker: Terry Cooper - Sussexsport
This South Downs walk is approximately 9 miles long and is from Lewes to Southease.
The walk will begin in Lewes and starts with a climb to Blackcap then back onto the South Downs Way. From there the path heads south over Balmer Down to the A27 crossing Kingston and onto the village of Southease. We will then cross the river Ouse to Southease train station.
The walk will start at 11am at Lewes train station which has easy road and rail links from Brighton. Getting back from Southease is easy since the station is on the Eastbourne line and runs to Seaford, Newhaven, Lewes and onto Brighton.
Please ensure that you have the following items for the walk; a hat, suntan lotion, waterproof clothing, suitable footwear, food and drink and money for the train journey back.
If you are interested in joining the walk then please contact Terry Cooper on extension 8345 or email T.Cooper@sussex.ac.uk, alternatively contact Terry for any other walking routes in the local area.
