The Education Awards are an annual celebration of Sussex staff – both academics and those in Professional Services – who truly embody the spirit and values of the University.
Nominations are closing on Friday 8 March, so there’s still time to get your nominations in!
There are five awards, four of which are open to all staff and one that is solely for staff with a teaching role (Teaching to Disrupt Award).
- Teaching to Disrupt Award: An award that recognises teaching staff who dare to be different and creative in their approach to teaching and learning.
- World Readiness Award: This award recognises teaching staff who help prepare and empower students for life after graduation.
- The Better World Award: This recognises staff who are actively engaged in efforts to make a positive impact in the local community and wider world in creative and entrepreneurial ways.
- Learning Together Award: This award celebrates collaborations between staff and students and seeks to recognise those who embed meaningful participation in their approach to teaching and/or supporting the student experience. The nominees must be a team comprised of staff and students.
- Inclusive Sussex Award: An award that encompasses the five core values of kindness, integrity, inclusion, collaboration and courage, within the context of teaching and learning at Sussex.
A judging panel made up of staff and students will decide the winners in each category. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 18 April at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts.
This is your chance to say thank you to any staff members who have made a real difference to you and your time at Sussex.
Whether they’ve gone above and beyond to support you, encouraged you to pursue a passion, or made a big difference in the community – we want to hear your stories!
