KEI Fellowships

We are delighted to announce a suite of Knowledge Exchange Fellowships launched from the 9th of October, 2023 under the ‘Knowledge Exchange and Impact Support Programme’ within the Research and Enterprise Division.

The programme seeks to support the development of knowledge exchange and impact across the institution, and to build capability to work with research users, policy makers and communities to bring about meaningful change in society.

 Aims of the Fellowship Scheme

  • To enable the aims of the university’s ‘Knowledge Exchange and Impact Strategy’;
  • To be an agile, flexible scheme that supports greater planning and development of KE and impact activities;
  • To champion transdisciplinary and innovative ways of working across the institution;
  • To support the Goals of Sussex 2025
  • To raise the research profile of Sussex regionally, nationally and internationally

Use of this funding

The scheme can be used to build on activity already under way, for new strands of activity related to existing research and projects, and to build capacity for future activity to achieve impact.

The KEI Fellowships will be awarded in the following FOUR (4) categories:

  1. Public and Community Engagement (up to £5K per proposal)
  2. Innovation (up to £15K per proposal)
  3. Policy (up to £6K per proposal)
  4. Business Development (from 10K to £50K per proposal).

The first phase of the fellowships will be running from 9th October to 31st December 2023 with the possibility of rolling over into a second phase in Jan 2024. Applications will be reviewed and results communicated to applicants within 3 weeks after submission.
