Student Mentors

Find out about Student Mentors based in the school and how they can help you.

About Student Mentors

There are ten student mentors in Media, Film & Music. They may have experienced the same worries or concerns you have.

What they do

They are here to help you with study skills including:

  • learning how to reference
  • note-taking
  • critical thinking
  • presentations
  • finding readings online and in the library
  • planning for assessments.

Student Mentors (second-year, third-year and postgraduate students) are based in the Silverstone Social Centre (top floor) ready to answer any questions you may have about your course, the MFM school or University in general. They can help with academic questions and signpost you to other areas of the University.

Although we list mentors by department and year group, you do not have to see the mentor specific to your degree. They have all been trained in study skills and are here to assist any student in the school.

For more information about the mentoring scheme, email mfm-mentors@sussex.ac.uk.
